Stopped in for a quick dinner the other day. I ordered a papas con chorizo tostada, a papas con chorizo taco, and sour cream on the side. Food came out in just minutes. Loved the papas con chorizo filling! It was very flavorful. Other filling options available: roasted pork, beef tongue, veggies, carnitas, shredded chicken. The handmade tortilla they used for the taco had a soft and fluffy texture. It was filling and pretty unique (at least compared to tacos I've had at other places). I didn't look closely enough at the menu to see that both the taco and tostada did not come with cheese, so I didn't order cheese as an additional topping. Not a big deal though. I'll remember to order cheese next time! This is a delicious spot. Definitely plan to be back.

A solid taco option in Boston. It is probably 5 stars for Boston, but having grown up in Texas and lived in Atlanta as well, it's more of a 4 star place overall.
We had six tacos for two and found the portions just right. We ordered one pork in Chile verde, two chicken tinga, one al Pastor, and two Lengua (beef tongue). The pork in Chile verde was very good, the al pastors were also quite good. The lengua was good as well. The chicken tinga was the only not so great option. I would skip the tinga in the future. The homemade hot sauce is good and I would recommend you get it when they bring your food. The tortillas are corn based instead of flour, which is more authentic but they are way to thick.
We also got an order of the elote (grilled street corn). The elote was quite good.
Again, a solid option when in the mood for tacos in south end. We will be back. -

Got a chicken tinga burrito with sour cream and guac. Really yummy and filling but a little expensive. Over $12 for a burrito seems a little expensive but it was very yummy.
If I upgraded to a more premium meet it would've been $15 which is nuts! -

Love their quesadillas! You can choose your meat. It comes with guac, sour cream, pico, and shredded lettuce! Delicious and affordable! Ive been back many times.

Chilacates recently opened in the South End, and all I can say is FINALLY. Sure, the prices are south end level, but what do you expect?
They have mostly takeout, but there is limited seating inside and a few small tables outside for when the weather is nice. It's also open until 10 which I can't say for most things in this area.
I highly recommend the salsa. It has a fire roasted tomato taste to it and it's probably my favorite part about their food. I'm also partial to the fact that they have enchiladas which I haven't seen at other burrito joints in the area.
